Problems with DPF, EGR, DEF, SCR & DOC Systems
Get in touchBefore exhaust gases can be released into the environment, the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) captures soot and other impurities. Unfortunately, these filters come with serious issues. The main problem is that they require constant cleaning, done automatically through a process called “regeneration.”
Regeneration may occur every 300 miles or after several hundred hours of operation. It works by injecting large amounts of diesel fuel into the DPF to ignite and burn harmful particles.
The Downsides of Regeneration
- Excessive Fuel Consumption: The process wastes fuel during each cleaning cycle.
- Time-Consuming: Regeneration can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours to complete.
- Engine Stress: Frequent stop-and-go cycles put extra wear on the engine and its components.
Replacement vs. Deletion
Swapping the DPF may provide a temporary fix, but new filters often fail again shortly after. The more practical solution is complete removal (DPF delete)—a simpler, long-term option that eliminates these issues altogether.
At Top Secret Garage, we specialize in advanced solutions to permanently resolve these problems and restore your engine’s true performance. (OFF ROAD ONLY)
